Privacy notice
Last updated: 15 Oct 2026
This notice explains what personal data we handle when you browse yolkmedia.hu or get in touch with us, why we do it, how long we keep it, and what your rights are.
In short
- No cookies. The site stores nothing in your browser, so there is no cookie banner.
- No tracking. We use no Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising or other tracking code.
- No third parties on the page. Even the fonts load from our own server, so your IP address is never sent to Google or anyone else.
- We only get your data if you write to us (form, email, phone), and we only use it to reply.
- All data stays in the EU, with a Hungarian hosting provider.
1. Who handles your data?
The data controller ("we"):
- Controller
- Kátai Ábel, private individual, operating under the "Yolk Media" brand
- Address
- 1188 Budapest Rákóczi utca 77/a
- hello@yolkmedia.hu
- Phone
- +36 20 376 6949
We have not appointed a data protection officer, because the size and nature of our work do not require one. For any privacy question, write to the email address above.
2. What data we handle, and why
2.1. When you write to us (contact form or email)
- What data
- Your name, your email address and what you tell us about the event: type, date, budget, message. Anything else you share in the text (for example your company name or a phone number) as well.
- What for
- To reply, to send you a quote and to plan the event with you.
- Legal basis
- GDPR Article 6(1)(b): steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. If you write on behalf of a company or an organiser, we handle your contact details under Article 6(1)(f): our legitimate interest in keeping in touch with our business partners.
- How long
- If we don't end up working together: until the inquiry is closed, and at most 1 year after our last exchange, then we delete it. If we do: for the duration of the contract and 5 years after it (the general limitation period under the Hungarian Civil Code). Invoices and accounting records are kept for 8 years, as the Hungarian Accounting Act requires.
- Is it required
- No, but without a name and an email address we cannot reply.
The form saves nothing on the web server and uses no database: what you send arrives straight away as an email in the hello@yolkmedia.hu mailbox, and we handle it there.
2.2. When you call us
- What data
- Your phone number (unless hidden), your name and what you tell us during the call. We do not record calls.
- Purpose, legal basis, how long
- The same as in section 2.1.
2.3. When you visit the site (technical logs)
- What data
- When you open a page, your browser automatically sends some technical data, which the web server logs: your IP address, the time of the visit, the address of the page, the previous page (if any), and the type of your browser and operating system.
- What for
- To keep the site running safely and without errors: finding bugs and investigating attacks or misuse. A password-protected, aggregated visitor statistic is also generated from these logs (for example, how many pages were loaded on a day). We do not combine this data with anything else, and we do not use it to identify or follow anyone.
- Legal basis
- GDPR Article 6(1)(f): our legitimate interest in running the website securely.
- How long
- The logs are created automatically by our hosting provider (Rackhost Zrt.), kept for a limited time under their logging policy, and then deleted automatically.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses no cookies and stores no data in your browser or on your device in any other way (for example local storage). We use no analytics, tracking, advertising or social media code, and we embed no third-party content (such as YouTube or Vimeo players, or maps).
Because nothing is stored on your device, no consent is needed for cookies (section 155(4) of the Hungarian Electronic Communications Act, implementing the EU ePrivacy Directive), so no cookie banner appears.
The only exception is our own admin area (/admin/), which only the Yolk Media team uses to update the portfolio. Logging in there sets one strictly necessary session cookie, limited to that area and deleted when the browser is closed. Visitors of the website never receive it.
If we ever add anything like this, we will update this notice first and ask for your consent where required.
4. Who can access your data
- The Yolk Media team (currently four people), only to reply to your inquiry and to work with you.
- Our processor: the website hosting and our email account are provided by Rackhost Zrt. (6722 Szeged, Tisza Lajos körút 41., Hungary, info@rackhost.hu). They store the data on our behalf and on our instructions, and may not use it for their own purposes. Their data processing statement: rackhost.hu/dpa (in Hungarian).
- Authorities: only if the law obliges us to hand data over (for example a court or authority request).
We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not pass it to anyone for marketing.
5. Does data leave the EU?
No. The hosting and email service operate in Hungary, inside the European Union, and we transfer no personal data to third countries.
6. Automated decisions
We make no automated decisions about you and do no profiling.
7. How we protect your data
- The site is only available over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), so data sent through the form travels encrypted.
- Form data is not stored on the web server, and there is no database it could leak from.
- Only the team can access the mailbox, which is password-protected.
8. Your rights
At any time and free of charge, you can ask us at hello@yolkmedia.hu to:
- tell you what data we hold about you and send you a copy (access, GDPR Article 15);
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data (rectification, Article 16);
- delete your data if we no longer need it or handled it unlawfully (erasure, Article 17);
- restrict its use, for example while a disputed question is being clarified (restriction, Article 18);
- hand over the data you gave us in a machine-readable format, to you or to an organisation you name (portability, Article 20);
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest (objection, Article 21). We will then stop, unless there are compelling legitimate grounds that the law allows.
We reply within one month at the latest. If a request is complex, we may extend this by two more months, and we will tell you in time. Before acting on a request, we may ask you to confirm your identity, so that nobody else can get your data.
9. Where to complain
If you feel we have not respected your privacy rights, please write to us first, and we will try to sort it out quickly. You can also complain to the Hungarian data protection authority at any time:
- Authority
- Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH)
- Address
- 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11., Hungary
- Postal address
- 1363 Budapest, Pf. 9., Hungary
- Phone
- +36 1 391 1400
- ugyfelszolgalat@naih.hu
- Website
- naih.hu
If you live in another EU country, you can also complain to the data protection authority there. You can also go to court; in Hungary such cases are heard by the regional court (törvényszék), and you may choose the court of your place of residence.
10. Changes
If the site or the way we handle data changes, we update this notice. The current version is always on this page, with the date of the last change at the top.
This English text is a translation. If the two versions differ, the Hungarian version applies.
